Finally, I had the guts to get to my first jersey dress. And I am so glad I did. Learnt a lot about the fabric and the right and wrong way of sewing it. It contradicts itself in many ways. When it is really comfortable and flattering to the curves, it also highlights the little imperfections to the figure(i cant believe, i can see dimple of my navel, my tires :-O, even wrong undergarments(bigger :-O) through the fabric) But i cud forget it all n wear it all day because of how comfortable it is, so in love with jersey and my new dress.
I picked this pattern because, it was a very easy-peesy dress. I was very impressed with one pattern of Tomoko Nakamichi from the book Pattern Magic part two pattern 1(page 49). I made just one alteration to the back because it was too plain, I made it by using three pieces instead of just one in the original pattern, the top piece lined with same jersey. I am wearing it with a long slip for fear of too much skin show. For the sleeve and neck i used binding.. Even though it is not perfect and I am not 100% happy but wearable-very-often kind of happy…
