I modified Butterick pattern #5603 to create this dress.
I added sleeves and a lace collar, and re-drafted the skirt for a pencil shape.
The dress is made out of wool crepe and is fully lined. Wool crepe is so fabulous to sew with that I have decided to now only sew with wool crepe (ridiculous claim #354). Every time my Janome sunk it’s needle into this fabric, Marvin Gaye’s ’Let’s get it on’ inexplicably started playing.

Leopard and snakeskin are the new neutrals.
