This is the prom dress I wore at the big university spring prom in 2008. I made it from yellow thai silk and yellow silk organza. I wanted the dress to be light and floating, but still shaping. I think it turned out quite well.
I started to use the thai silk to sew an underdress with a close fit to support the bust and shape the body. I then draped the organza ontop of the silkdress. This was a bit of a struggle and took a lot of time since I dont have a doll, but had to drape it onto my own body whilst wearing the dress. I got quite a lot of pinpricks from this method, but the result made it all worth it!
