I made this dress using a successful recipe, that is the usual bodice from 11/2010 Knee Length Dress with Pockets pattern. I made the skirt by folding the pleats myself (just two rectangles). I also used the belt from the jenny skirt, which wasn’t such a good move on retrospective, because it doesn’t look too nice on its own, but needs a belt or a sash. I shall make a sash later, if i don’t get too bored. It would also be nice if I added straps that cross at the back. But still… it’s totally wearable as it is, so I most likely won’t do any of these and leave the dress as it is.
The fabric is a mixed cotton/something blend, which my aunt had in her stash for more than 30 years. It is kind of wave-textured and a little shiny, and has a very soft feel on the inside.
