Found some pastale yellow fabric and wanted to practice the pattern for my Halloween costume. I had to make a lot of alterations. First the length of the bosdice had to be increased. I had to add to the bodice and skirt at the side seams, and the elastic. The shoulder straps call for ribbon, but since I’m in dire need of a trip to the craft/fabric store I just used some lace trim and tubing. Considering that I could not find my iron this dress isn’t half bad. I’m not a fan fo the color, but it turned out alright.

I think that this outfit would be more flattering in darker colors….maybe even take the straps and make them wider and crisscross them in the back? Good idea!

I like the criss crossing idea! Thanks. And this yellow was a practice run since I haven’t made anything in years. It’s part of a costume. Which has a vest and jacket over the dress, and it’s all in black and deep burgandy colors.
