My first vintage pattern! It’s a 1972 McCalls pattern for high-neck shirt, vest, and pants. I made the vest and pants for my son.
The fabric is yellow corduroy and the lining is dark purple polyester fabric. It turned out that I didn’t really like the lining fabric, it moved a lot and doesn’t stay in shape. Next time I will be using cotton or silk for the lining.
I didn’t make many changes to the pattern, only adding a pair of slanted pockets to the pants and shortening the legs a bit.
My son was really excited when he saw the vest and pants. He said that they looked like fighting costume set. Huh? Yeah… umm, I guess they kinda looked like Dragon Ball‘s clothes (-_-;). He’s a big fan of Dragon Ball, and can spend hours reading the manga, that was why he was really happy with the vest and pants.
Anyway, the most important thing is that he likes them (^_^).
