I made this Button up Plaid Skirt out of a men’s shirt I bought at Good-Will (It still had tags). I loved the colors and the plaid print.
First, I removed the pocket. Then I basically, cut across the shirt under the arms and gathered. Used the rest of the fabric for the waistband and an additional pocket. Sewed the waistband to the skirt. Hemmed the skirt, becuase it had a curved shirt tail. Swapped out the buttons for some red buttons. I used a hook and eye closure at the waistband and sewed a none functioning button to it to match the rest. Lastly, I sewed the pockets on.
