I made this dress several years ago using the bodice of a 1970s pattern. The bust points are way too high but once they were cut there was no changing it – now that I have a lot more pattern knowledge I would like to make the bodice again with better placed bust points. The collar was super difficult – I have attempted the same collar with not much better results. One day I might get it right. I love the sleeves – I have used the sleeves pattern several times but now make them with more room for my apparently large upper arms!. Hope you like – it is one of my favourites. It suits my style and figure and I love the fabric.

When I saw the fabric I had to have it despite the $25\metre. i have since discovered that it is much cheaper to buy online from America, even with the postage.

The dress looks great on you. Did you use any interfacing in the collar? It looks like you used it in the sleeves. Maybe getting a thicker fusable interfacing would help.

I did use interfacing. I just found matching up the two parts of the collar really tricky – maybe i need to be more of a perfectionist!

When you shave off your hair you discover a whole new world of short hairstyle that actually really suits you. I would consider that length of hair to be a little too long these days.

I love the fabric too — and the dress! And the way the brown peeks out on the belt. Well done!
