Burda Style For people who sew

Description
I found this red linen fabric and loved it, so I bought it. Then I was looking for an appropriate pattern and found a Butterick pattern: Lifestyle Wardrobe B5428. Somehow I am not too convinced about those patterns, concerning the correct fit. I chose the pattern according to the measurements indicated and wanted to finish the dress (my fault). At the end I think the dress is to “roomy”, but it looks good and is comfortable to wear and I got a few compliments.

Zeitlos klassisch und tolle Farbe ! Ich find Butterick Schnitte m grossen ganzen sehr gut, hab aber auch immer Probleme mit der richtigen Grösse, weil Amerikaner und Engländer zwar dieselben Nummern nutzen, aber diese Nummern nicht identisch sind. Fall immer wieder darauf rein :-(

Ja, den Schnitt finde ich absolute klasse, Butterick ist mal eine gute Abwechslung zu Burda, aber mit der Grösse…. Habe mich an die Masse (Oberweite, Hüfte, etc.) gehalten und bin reingefallen – das erste Mal, dass ich ohne Anprobe genäht habe. Aber zugeschnitten waren die Teile schon und da hätte wohl auch nicht viel geändert. Habe mir schon überlegt, ob ich vorne der Länge nach 2 cm einhalte und einfach eine Naht einbaue. Mal schauen, wenn das Wetter ist und ich es das nächste Mal trage. Danke für Dein Lob.

:)) Thank you!! It is wearable and no one ever said that it looked too big on me. So maybe it’s just my feeling or that I am not used to wider garments. Normally I am sewing quite figure-hugging things.
