This wrap is actually pants. It is a pattern i created, including a front panel that is free-flowing, disguising the fact that its pants.
Cotton I resist dyed (shibori). Check out my how-to on shibori stitching and dyeing.

Thanks for the shibori instructions. I am experimenting with it right now but your fabric just blows me away. It’s so beautiful and with the wrap pants just so cool. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks very much for your description! Don’t think you will ever see me running at super speeds – so I should be safe :-)

To create this pattern, I loosely copied a pair of pants ( not tight ones- something on the baggy side with straight legs will help). Now you should have 4 separate pieces.
Next, I added two extra panels- one on each side of the front. These are about the same size as the front panels, enough length to wrap almost to your center back. This way, your legs don’t show through the sides. (Unless you’re running at super speeds, no leg will show.)
The front panel is optional –you can make it however you like. And, of course, the waistband/ties. When I put this on, I tie the back on first. Then, I pull up the front and its ties to the back.
I did a search for wrap pants and found a picture of someone wearing this type of garment on the Dharma Trading website. Only, their version looks like they’re wearing mine backwards! Dharma’s version
Also , I just discovered Burda makes a pattern for wrap pants, although they are narrower and they show leg. Same thing, looks like they’re wearing mine backwards: Burda2989
hope this helps!

Very cute !! I know this patterns for long trousers (haven’t tried it yet). Can you let me know if the skirt shows a lot of legs (and maybe underwear:-) when walking or sitting down? Seems it’s perfect for a hot summer, but I actually would prefer to show not too much. I would also favour a pattern and/or small how-to.

Wow, that is gorgeous. I’d love a how to for the shibori dye process – the fabric is gorgeous.
