I saw this fabric and had to make something out of it. Found this pattern in Burdastyle’s 9/2011 issue #110B and thought I’d give it a shot. It’s a kilt style skirt unlike anything I have in my wardrobe. The blouse is from Burdastyle’s 4/2012 issue #116B. I added interfacing to the skirt and two buttons on the waist button. The pattern originally called for two large sew on snap fasteners which I think might be disastrous if you got caught in a rough wind and you found the skirt wrapped around your ankles.
This blouse pattern is a favorite.
1.5 yards of cotton, and 1 yard of lining for the skirt, 1 yard of red cotton for the blouse & (3) 5/8 inch buttons, plus 1/2 yard of interfacing for both.
