Description
this is my entry for deer&doe’s plantain challenge
i made it longer, so i can wear it as a dress
because i’m not really a t-shirt kind of gal
..
instead of jersey fabric
it’s made out of wool that is quite thick, but has a lot of stretch
so it worked ok
..
dress is made out of two scraps of fabrics
and those scraps were quite narrow
so in order to get that trapeze look of the dress
i had to add wedges of fabric to the side seams of the skirt part
..
have no idea what size of the dress i made in the end
i planned to make 36
i’m size 38, but am used to sew with less seam allowance than this pattern includes
so i thought 36 would work just fine..
but then my boyfriend printed the pattern
and forgot to press that ‘no scaling’ button
so the pattern ended up being 10% smaller
so i cut the size 42
40 would be better i guess
but i’m fine with this fit
..
raised the neckline
it’s a short dress
so i tried to balance that up a bit
and the sleeves are short because i run out of fabric
..
i also made the leggings
using burda magazine pattern
(think i’ve used this one over 10 times so far, i love it that much)
..
