the first dress i made using wool fabric (it’s damn hard to get it to fit under the tiiiiiny space below the sewing machine’s needle!) and without any patterns at all..
this is also the first time i sew a lining to the dress..(and cursed every second while doing so, as it’s so bloody hard!)
i guess it went pretty well, for a first timer who doesn’t even know how to do it the right way ;)
originally i planned the top part to be more structural-like than this. but as i cut the fabric, i realized i’m 0.5m short of fabric! so i altered it, and tried my best to still make it a dress somehow (didn’t want it to end up being “just” a skirt..it HAD to be a dress!). and yes, the sleeves are supposed to look like that ;)
the pleating (on the skirt part) took me hours to figure out, again because i’ve no ability of making patterns.
the last picture shows where i got the idea of the pleats. in short, i tried to copy the pleats from this dress, without using any patterns, and alter it to a different kind of dress.

you’re amazing to just copy a dress from a magazine like that! It looks great too, i love the bottom part of the fabric how it turns from black to white. :)
