What a pleasure it was to sew this coat! With 3/4 length raglan sleeves, a beautiful collar and two welt pockets, it was exactly the style I’ve been waiting for from Burda. The suggested fabrics were boucle or reptile print lacquer fabric (whatever that means!), but I opted for a straightforward wool, of rather heavy weight. I wanted a proper winter coat and yes, living in the UK I risked getting half of my arms frozen off, but I absolutely love the result and wouldn’t change a thing about the pattern.

Thanks everyone for your comments! I have uploaded two more images, showing how it looks on a human rather than a hanger.

Lovely coat…all you need is a pair of long gloves would look wonderful with this style and save you arms!

This is a lovely, lovely coat – you’ve done a fab job.
That wool is just beautiful. Much better that any “reptile print lacquer fabric” could ever be!!! ;)
