Wool cape, lined

Added Jan 8, 2010

Castle Rock, Uni...

This was an Xmas gift I made for my boyfriend’s mom. She’ll rock this cape with her silver hair! The wool is black and white with a hint of red, which is why I went with the red lining. The newsboy cap, which I kept, was made out of the scraps. It’s the exact same one as my Sherlock Holmes-y cape. But lined!

Material Notes

Wool, red lining which is gorgeous and silky but I’ll be damned if I know what type of fabric it really is. It was a pre-cut remnant I grabbed.

Garment Type
Casual, Classic
Blends, Wool

I’m looking to make myself a cape. Did you use a pattern for yours? I’m having a hard time trying to work out how to have one that sits and is as nice as yours! Brilliant work!

oh thank you. i owe a lot to the beautiful fabric. the pattern has a couple of variations (newlook#6916) it was cooler when i started sewing and thought a cape would be the easiest way to wet my feet.
