This is one of 5 Woodland Pixie dresses I have made… each one made out of remnant fabrics .. ranging from silk and taffeta to velvet and suedette … it is a tad tricky due to its patchwork nature …
Alot of my dresses i don’t really work to a pattern with i tend to just cut the fabric and pin it straight onto the dolly and pray!!! it works for me.. most of the time … not really a tequnique that I should recommend !!!
As for fabrics… all i can say is that it is patchwork… I use what works together… certain textures and colours mixed together may surprise you so don’t disgard it thinking it won’t work.. try it anyway .. that’s how amazing things happen!!!
One of the most beloved American designers passed last night. We look back at a few of his designs.
