I’d been thinking about designing a dress with woodgrain-printed fabric for awhile. The idea to make the dress actually resemble a piece of furniture came to me while flipping through an IKEA catalogue. I wanted something white…with inset wood panels…and maybe some wooden knobs. With the addition of the lampshade, my transformation was complete.

Amazing job! Is the dress from a pattern or self-drafted? I LOVE it, the story, the fabric, the styling, etc, etc.

I have one yard of this wood grain print fabric that I have been killing myself over what to make it out of- but too scared to cut it! This is very inspiring and I hope to see more of this print everywhere!

This is a very inspiring dress! I like the wooden fabric inserts and the geometry of the dress. I also like the waisband with the wooden buttons, it gives the dress a very clean look. Greate and lovely idea ;O)
