Off-white cotton with ripe cherries. Hem bound with bias and a little bow to finish.
Based on the sweetheart dress/bodice from 04/2013, I used a section of the skirt to create a little peplum and widened the back, in order to have a little shirred section for comfort – it’s just a pop to the shops/playing out top so I wanted comfort, rather than constrained!
I wasn’t overly pleased with the way the bodice goes together though – it gets really fiddly around the right angles between body and strap. Next time I will make it fully lined and will placed the centre section, lining attached, between the side section upper and lining fabrics, right sides together, to create a much neater line.
Otherwise a cute design.
