Aubergine boiled wool, with a slight stretch. The skirt was based on Vogue V8603, with a back slit and lined in stretch satin. The jacket – Chanel Style – was from Vogue V7975. I decided to crop the jacket pattern to just below waist length and the sleeves to just below elbow. The jacket was lined in shot taffeta which although it has no stretch, was a lovely colour match. This is a great and straightforward jacket pattern with so many possibilities. When it came to trim the jacket I was stuck for ideas for a while but then opted to try cutting the taffeta on the bias and forming a ribbon. When this was gathered it seemed to be just enough.
Aubergine 100% boiled wool with a slight stretch. Does not fray so easy seam finishing. Shot taffeta lining for jacket and stretch polyester satin lining for the skirt.
