Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is my daughter’s piano recital dress. The dress features rose sleeves (thanks to Julia Bobbin’s tutorial), hem lace on the sleeves and skirt, hand picked zipper, and neckline facing (designed by me) rather than a lining. The rose sleeves were time consuming but simple to construct. It was a joy to watch the beautiful red rose ruffles emerge in the process. The only complicated part was the fit. I had to adjust for my tiny twelve year old daughter’s sloping shoulders, narrow chest and back. She takes after her mother.
