Winter Party Dress!

London, United K...

This was made just before christmas for various christmas parties and new year ! It worked so well and my sister still wears it out now (still very suitable for all seasons!) and gets many compliments! Partly due to the fabric i must say, as it is a beautiful fabric. However the pattern works very well as a simple tight dress similar to those sold in American Apparel. I made the pattern by moulding fabric to a dressmakers model and working from that after a few alterations. It could be made backless but i chose a full back to make it more formal. Overall a great success!

Material Notes

I used Stretch velvet with sewn on sequins.

Garment Type
Evening Wear, Mod, Other, Romantic
Knits/Jersey, Lace/Sequins, Velvet

backless is definitely an idea! if’ its higher in front, why not show the back? it’s hotttt. but i love how it is here too!

Love this dress! I think it would have looked really hot in a low back swoop too but I think its such a statement dress the way it is I wouldnt change anything! Great job! :)
