Description

I started this dress when I was at work late, but it took longer than I thought, so unfortunately, the pattern is a little too dark for Spring, but I’m wearing it anyway. I cut the band on the bias, and interfaced it so it didn’t stretch. The only major problem that I had was that the neckline facing kept rolling to the front, even after understitching, but a few quick hand-stitches solved that problem. It was fairly straightforward to put together, and I didn’t have to do any major alterations. I’m not a huge fan of the elasticized sleeves, so next time, I’ll try a big pleat.

Material Notes

The dress is a wool plaid and it’s lined with 2 types of polyester (as that’s what I had in my stash). Lightweight in the bodice, and a heavier weight in the skirt.

It’s gorgeous! I never let the season discourage me from wearing whatever color I like ;)
