A cape coat in gray wool/cashmere tweed blend.
This is my first pattern project so I went for a pattern labelled easy. I used McCalls M5913 for the basis of the cape, but this pattern is unlined so I added a my own lining.
I also did the facings and belt back in black wool flannel for some accent colour. I used self covered buttons. I like the belt as it gives some shape to the cape. More pictures and info on my blog here
Grey wool/cashmere tweed, black wool flannel, polyester lining.

Awesome. Belted capes are more flattering to the body.

I’ve been looking for a nice cape pattern for ages – I think this could be the one! It looks comfortable, not a superhero, bellowing-in-the-wind type of cape. love the black accents used aswell:)

Oh, fabulous! I’ve been looking for a style for my recently purchased raincoat fabric, this might be it, it’s got such a nice shape (unusual for capes)!
