This is a dress I made for my friend, and it is a ModCloth Windy City Dress knock-off.
She got this fabric from her friend, and asked me to make a dress with it. The fabric is quite unique – I haven’t seen anything like it at any of the stores I frequent. It has a 60′s, kaleidoscope somewhat psychedelic feel to it. I was bad and kept delaying production. But I only did this because the fabric is absolutely one-of-a-kind, and I was scared to put scissors to it. But last week, I finally did it.
She wanted me to make a dress that would imitate the neckline of the Windy City Dress from ModCloth, but would not incorporate a waist band.
I hope she will like her dress!

This is a stick up: hand over that fabric! ;-0
And this is the type of pattern I skip right over but the way you’ve rendered it with the fabric now I’m on the lookout for something similar. Well done!

thank you! i know, the fabric is so unique, right?! i have not seen anything like it at regular fabric shops. my friend got this vintage fabric as her birthday gift, and im so envious!
i usually dont like this type of “sack dress”, but i think it was a good way to show off the bold pattern of the fabric :)
