This is the costume I made this year for Halloween. I am a female Willie Wonka. My roommate always does a Haunted House for the kids in our neighborhood and I was the door person/crowd control. Most kids knew who I was. I used the coffee date dress pattern for the dress part. I used a khaki fabric for the skirt and a fruit print fabric for the top, like the lickable wallpaper in Willie Wonka. I used Vogue pattern # 8601 for the velvet purple jacket. I also made the hat. I had a pool cue for the cane and I printed wonka stickers and put them on little candy bars.
Purple stretch fabric, cardboard, khaki linen fabric, fruit print fabric, half a green cotton tank top for the bow, fake suede for the hat, lollipops, zipper, thread

Wow, what an amazing outfit, and what a good idea to greet the kids in costume. I love the jacket, I hope you can use it when not in costume too!
