I bought some cute stawberry patterned cotton from Lincoln in the summer and made this dress with it to wear to Nottingham Splendour Festival. It was a lovely hot day fortunatly so I was pleased I made a nice dress although regretted making the bodice lining from the strawberry cotton too!
The skirt was made using the Marie pattern and the bodice was made using the burda pattern 3/2011 Short Dress with Bubble Skirt.
I found merging the patterns easy. But I fiddled with the skirt too much and couldn’t quite work out what shape I wanted. I really like the v shape back of the dress and found that it fit relatively well and only reqiured a small amount of changes to be made. The pleats were great fun to put in and I love the bodice. So all in all a fun dress to wear and make with the exception of the skirt shape.
