Never in my life I made so many things of knits as I sew them last half a year. I looked through my wardrobe and saw that I only had three self-made jersey items before, wow… I must thank my sweet friends here for changing my attitude to work with such a material: thank you, girls!:-))
So, this fabric is the very one that steals your sewing soul and doesn’t let you go until you bring it home and it makes you only busy with choosing the right pattern and sewing something as soon as possible:-) It is the story.
As the fabric’s pattern is very bright and really crazy with perfect autumn colours, the choice of the pattern wasn’t very hard. And making the top took me just several hours. What I changed:
1. The length – I shortened the top for 6 cm (and think it could be more) to wear it both with pants and skirts.
2. I like top’s long sleeves but they are not narrow enough to keep them above your palm so either gather them along the sleeves seams with elastic or make them shorter or decrease the width to the bottom.
But anyway this top is one of my favourite things this season, I surely recommend it!
The skirt is not new – it is from Burda9/2004, #104. My favourite silhouette – fitting around hips and widening to the bottom. What is more womanish and playful ?;-)
Jersey from blend of cotton and viscose for the top.
Blend of wool and p/e for the skirt.
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
