These were originally going to be wrap round trousers, as I had seen a few examples of these and they looked so quick and easy to make! Unfortunately I ended up not having enough fabric to wrap all the way around my hips without it gaping indecently!
So the solution, with a lot of help from my mum in pinning, was to sew the tops of the sides together and leave the sides of the legs open. I wanted to keep the tie fastening that would’ve been in the wrap arounds so I left one side partially open to enable me to get them on and fastened ties to the overlapping edges.
The result is a pair slightly more fitted than wrap arounds which I quite like and I finished them in time for my summer holiday!
