This is my first attempt at sewing clothes. And my first attempt at understanding patterns and instructions. I used fabric from my grandmother, who has recently reached the age of 92, and who now can’t sew anymore.
I didn’t have anyone who could help me figuring out what the instructions meant. This made it extra hard for me but also made me extra proud of the result :)
I tried to follow the instructions and only changed the length of the sleeves (shortened them).
firm cotton/linen mix-like fabric
striped lining fabric (not visible on any of the pictures)
2 buttons, + 1 for the inside
shoulder-pads

I was considering trying this pattern, but I wasn’t totally convinced. It’s nice to see it on a real person. It’s cute! I might just be convinced. Good work!

If this is your premiere work, it seems you’re a natural. I can only take a bow in respect. The jacket looks fantastic, just like you details. I really like the buttons. I find it always hard to find the right ones.

thank you all for your kind response! :) I really like my jacket too. So much, in fact, that I haven’t worn it yet. Too afraid of spilling anything on it…haha…

Wow this is amazing! Such a great piece, especially for a first time. Did your grandma teach you? I would be so proud to have produced something like that! Well Done!

Really good job on your first project, I totally love this pattern! I just made myself this jacket in other version, with a peplum on the back. Fits great, right?!

This looks awesome! (And actually makes me want to try this pattern…)
What an amazing first project.
If you want to keep the front from flopping down on the one side, you could hand-sew a small snap there… but if you like it the way it is, no worries. It is awesome! :)

I’m so happy that you like it :) I was thinking about that front too… Maybe I will put something under there, It would be a more neat look that way.
Thank you so much for the kind post..
