I made these shorts using some leftover fabric from one of my dresses. I didn’t have big enough pieces of fabric so I patchworked some together – it’s not very noticeable though cos of the stripes. I modified the Anita pattern. I brought the waist down by 4cm and made pockets with bows on them. I wanted a covered button. The only good sized button I had didn’t have a shank so I threaded some wire through the holes and made one!
Quite thick striped cotton. Blue floral cotton. Zip. Button. Wire.

Could you give me some advice on step six part b? IT isn’t making much sense to me at all…. Picture a show how the right sides are facing together, but when you fold it over as part b says, somehow you end up with the right side facing the wrong side as the picture in part b shows.. I just don’t understand how they get to that.

Sew the yoke and the back pant piece together, right sides facing. Zigzag or overlock that seam and then press it down towards the pant piece. Then top stitch it (sew it 0.7 cm away from the seam line). This top stitching will hold the seam allowances down so it stays nice and flat. I hope this makes sense for you now.
