I love the dress. Would you mind putting up a how-to on it? I’ve been trying to figure out how to design my own version of a regency dress for a while with great difficulty.

f-p: regency is the time period of (roughly) 1810s through 1830s. This style dress is English. I drafted the pattern myself, but there are some available out there. The Simplicity 9221 looks like a pretty good pattern for accuracy on the style of bodice and sleeves. Historically the skirt has a fullness in the back that can be several yards of fabric. On thses dresses there is about 3 yards gathered in the back. On ball gowns I use 4 yards and make a train. If you are a fan of the Jane Austin movies you can get a good look at many styles in this period.

Z- Regency dresses are extreemely comfortable. Not only can they be constructed of very light fabrics, they also are only fitted at the bust, so the everything else (especially the waist) are free. Historically they are worn with a corset, so you can get spectacular clevage, but if you are just looking to make a summer dress, the empire waistline should be very comfortable, and flattering.

Very nice! Just a question are regency type dresses comfortable to wear? Just wondering because i live where the weather goes up to 55 degrees in the summer and i improvise making light cotton dresses to survive doing the housework and cooking and this design looks like a nice change.
