White Lines, JJ
Added Dec 22, 2015
This princess-seamed dress is made of t-shirt scraps. I fitted a woven muslin of the JJ blouse (I needed to remove some fabric from the front upper chest and add some to the back). I traced the fitted pattern without seams to make a pattern for use with stretch fabrics. I used 1/4" seam allowances (but did not add these back to the pattern). I lengthened the pattern pieces to a length that I like for dresses. I added an additional centre piece to the front and pieced some of the other parts where I did not have enough length from my t-shirts. For the skirt portion, I free-handed horizontal shapes and attached them. I can wear this dress inside-out for the exposed seam look or the “regular” way.
