I used a poly blend fabric that had been sitting around my studio for a few years. I wanted to make a dress for my daughter in her favorite colors. I made the fabric flowers in a black poly lining fabric and the dress fabric. I drafted the pattern myself and used bias binding at the armscye and neckline. I used a satin ribbon for the bow at the neck and sewed a small casing for the ribbon which gathers at the neck and made a horizontal seam about 6 inches from the hem to add a little something to the simple silhouette.
polyester blend for dress, black poly lining fabric for flowers, bias binding, satin ribbon.

Thank you. It was fun to make and a nice change from the bridal dresses I’ve been busy with.
