Pattern: Sultry Sheath Dress from Gertie’s New Book for Better Sewing.
Fabric: French Bulldog Kokka fabric 100% cotton.
Straps dress with zip on the back, fully lined and fusible interface bias tape to stabilize necklines and armholes.
The pattern presented a couple minor problems or inconvenience I better say. Even though I cut the same size for the bodice and skirt, this last one was a little bigger than the bodice. So I have to narrow the skirt from the waistline to perfectly fit the bodice. The other problem was the fact that the front bodice darts aren’t aligned with the skirt darts. So I alter the pattern to perfectly lined up the darts by moving them towards the center. Of course I had to make a muslin to test this changes. Everything looked pretty good though I needed to do some fitting at the back of the bodice since is was very big for my narrow back. I’m very happy with the result, a very cute summer dress. I love this pattern is very flattering and feminine.
L 270cm x W 110cm fabric and lining, Invisible zipper, L190cm x W1cm fusible interfacing cut on the bias.
