What is a wrap? Just a piece of fabric that has had some hemming done right? I made this one to go with my couture-ish dress, it is made out of the lining I put on the dress and the colour is a beautiful contrast to the main garment. I usually really like the selvedges on fabric and often despair at cutting them off. This time, i incorporated the selvedge into the wrap and added some decorative stitching at the place where the weaving process was obvious. It is also the first time i have used Susan Khalje’s rolled hem technique (don’t know how to reference it here sorry, but it is in a Threads Magazine (old) available online), I am very happy with the end result.
Cellulose acetate lining (am hooked on cellulose-based fabrics, they look beautiful and have a lovely draping quality).
