I made this high-waisted skirt out of a super-long vintage dress my mom had by chopping off the bottom and using the party skirt how-to. Unfortunately, by the time I added the zipper, I found out that my initial waistband measurements were wayyy off, so to make it fit just right at my waist, I added a shiny red button, folded the waistband over once, and sewed two buttonholes to secure the excess fabric. It makes me want to bury an inseam pocket in there! It was a fun and easy project to do on a sunny afternoon, but I was very lucky to have the hem already done for me :]

The fold over part where the button is makes it look like a wrap skirt. Your quick save for a goof actually looks intentional and way cute! I think it makes a great accent!
And the before/after are amazing!! I love the skirt!

really cute skirt and a nice save with the addition of the button. Are you gonna rescue the top half of the dress as well?
