If you were waiting for the blouse to go with last week’s Twinkle by Wenlan skirt pattern, here it is!! The blouse pattern is another design by Twinkle, however it is not available in the book Twinkle Sews. It is a special for our members offered here on BurdaStyle by Twinkle by Wenlan
This blouse not only works perfectly with the skirt, it also looks great over pants or leggings.
This pattern is following the size chart of Twinkle by Wenlan, which you can find here on step 5 of the instructions..

It is beautiful but overpriced. I pay more for other indie patterns but at least you get the paper pattern and a book with instructions (for example Colette patterns). This is too much to print out at home.

The pattern is nice, but the instructions are USELESS. I can figure out how to do things when they’re not explained well, but entire steps are missed. Do not purchase if you’re a novice. Burda, if you’re listening, could you offer an updated set of instructions?

I’m wondering what this might look like as a dress. Maybe just extending the bottom of the pattern into an a-line skirt. Any experienced sewers/designers ideas?

I agree the pattern is overpriced… for me the idea is to see something you like and do it yourself for less…. or am I being a cheapskate?

I too love this blouse. It will fit perfectly with the rest of the wardrobe I’m slooooowly constructing. I have it in my cart and will hopefully buy it soon. I would spend $8… maybe even a little more… for it in a heart-beat if it were already printed. It’s just hard when you have to factor in the paper, the ink, the taping, the time. So, I don’t think that the pattern itself is overpriced, really. It’s more that because of the way we have to go about it all, it’ll add up to more than what’s pleasant. I have an inkling that Twinkle will become a big name and by big I mean Michael Kors big. We may all look back and feel silly that we hemmed and hawed over 8 bucks. I feel you all on the labor intensive taping and printing costs for sure, but on the same note, I WILL be buying this ASAP. Sad day when I don’t have 8 bucks in the paypal account!! ; ) Happy sunday sewing, all!

$8 is a lot for one blouse pattern, especially when it’s such basic construction. I would buy it if there were a few variations included & the pattern was already printed. Or if the one blouse pattern was complicated & amazing like the Vogue designer patterns of Donna Karan, Ann Klein, Claude Montana, etc.
$8 isn’t a lot, but it isn’t in line either.

ooh! I can’t wait to do a plaid version of this. Charge or no charge I like the idea of being presented with a fashionable pattern every week instead of the laborious and droll task of searching through the pattern books.

whoa, has anyone looked at the pattern page? how exactly does a flutter sleeve tank top require 3 yards of fashion fabric and 1.5 yards of lining??

I know $8 is a bit compared to what BS normally charges, but I do think that this blouse is gorgeous! Its really different compared to some of the other patterns on here.

Sorry to say, but to me it just looks ugly and unflattering. I wouldn’t pay 7.99 for the blouse, let alone for just the pattern. And why aren’t there any pictures of the back? Well, at least it isn’t another variation of Fatina.

It is expensive. It would be better, if BS charged 4$ for this pattern and 4$ for the skirt last week. 8$ is way too much.

Oh, yay! Love it. One question which I can’t quite seem to make out from the photo or drawing — does the blouse as pictured have a shell under it? Or is it just one blouse with a sheer/opaque fabric combo?

Hey,
The blouse has a lining in the all the way up in the back. In the front, the lining is up to the yoke, leaving the yoke to just panel of chiffon and giving the blouse his light and airy feel.

Ah, okay… thanks! Unfortunately I’m probably too poor for this pattern at the moment, but I think it’s great that Burdastyle is supporting independent pattern designers, even if it means that the patterns cost a bit more.
