Description

This is a simple wedding dress with a punch of color for my friend Kris. She was on a tight budget for her wedding and we were able to make her dress for around $100. She found the red fabric first and wanted it incorporated into her dress somehow. She was thrilled with the result. I was just as happy for her. :)

    This dress is beautiful! with your permission I’d love to steal this concept for some of my future designs! I think the contrast of the colours and the draping effect are amazing and would work well in so many ways: tops, summer dresses, evening dresses! great work xxx

      I used New Look #6401. The pattern had the draped thingy on it. (There—-I gave credit where credit is due) I’d love to see what you do with the idea!

    Thanks for posting this. I am in the process of making my own wedding dress right now and I love seeing what others have done. I like the way the red drapes and adds the color. I am not a fan of “traditional” dresses and I detest the things offered in bridal stores right now. This is so fresh and different!

    I love this! I really like the shape of the dress… I must admit—I HATE white shoes and wish she wore red ones!! :) stunning dress though! and I love her hair—great updo!

      Thank you. Wish I could take credit for the hair. She looked so lovely. You’re right! Red shoes would have been awesome! At least her toenails were done in a red and black french manicure…
