I couldn’t find a wedding dress I liked and was quite chocked by the prices of wedding dresses as well to be honest, so for my wedding in July 2011 I decided I would make my own. I have never sewn anything like this before but with a lot of trial and error I created a pattern (this was very much the hard part as I have never taken any pattern making classes) and after that the actual sewing was easier than I thought. 100% Silk cut on bias

I love the loose drop-waist look – it gives you such a rocker-chic vibe! (and it matches your hubs’ hair I may add)

Your dress is lovely. I like the drop waist, it gives it a vintage 1930’s feel. And great job drafting your own pattern. You looked beautiful on your big day.
