Description

Here’s my June project, an organic jersey muslin for the Karen cardi. It’s handy to have in the office when they crank the a/c in the summer, but I’m not in love with it. A good lesson learned in remembering that structured garments look best on me. Flowy is pretty on the hanger and fabulous on the svelte :)

If you do make this, may I suggest reversing the seam for the neck? The collar pieces, which come around to form the pleated front, naturally want to fall outward, and I think it would look best if the neck seam were underneath (sewn wrong sides together).

That is EXACTLY what I’m talking about – flopping! Can’t do it. Re-reading my original comment – made me think – it sounds like what I would feel most comfortable wearing is probably a straight jacket! This is a worry….. ;) xxxx PS Still think you look svelte – but can you teach me that pose??? LOL!

Now there’s a project to take on – a styling straight jacket!

What do you mean – “flowy is fabulous on the svelte”!!! Honey – you ARE svelte!!!

This looks lovely on you. I think it is more about style. I know I just feel more comfortable in structured clothes, I can’t even wear a jacket or cardi if doesn’t at least have one button done up – I just don’t feel dressed! (Yer – I’m a bit of a nut!) I know that if I wore this cardi it would drive me crazy (even with the tie). But it does look good – and the colour is lovely!

I also know how those office air-cons can be – it can be sweltering hot outside and you are shivering at your desk!! Cardis are fab for that!

Nah…I just know how to pose for the mirror :) You crack me up! But YES…those damn ties hanging and flopping all around… Even when they’re wrapped all around like in some of the BS photos, they still bug me. I like this well enough when standing just so, but walk across a room, and it’s a train wreck.
