A few months ago I finally made it to London. Close to the place where I was staying I found an awesome shop selling african wax print fabric. I had been looking for a place selling it for a while, so I had to get some. It was hard to decide on a print.
I didn’t have a sewing machine for a year, so I started handsewing the skirt. When I came back home, I finished it with the machine. I used a weird mix of thread because I couldn’t find the one I had bought for the skirt in my luggage. That’s not visible, though.
The skirt is almost a circle skirt. I gathered it a bit in the front and the back and put in an invisible zipper. Nice for twirling! It’s longer than most of my skirts, more than knee length. It just seemed right that way.
I finished it just in time for a hot day.
I drafted the pattern myself.
african wax print fabric, zipper, some fusible interfacing

Great work, love the material :) Well done on finishing this one, sounds like it was a bit of journey, having started by hand! Well done!
