Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I made this dress a couple of years ago and it’s been one of my favorites- so simple yet so versatile! I actually made it in Tonga when I was in the Peace Corps there and I wore it all the time- it was modest enough but at the same time light and cool in the hot, humid weather. And it was easy to sew up in a day! I made it from this cheap and lightweight polyester fabric- cotton would have been more comfortable, but I didn’t have many options and I really liked the wave print.
I didn’t modify the pattern too much, but I did take it in a bit on the sides to be more fitted and also added a tad bit of length to be “teacher-appropriate.” Anyway, I would highly recommend this pattern- it’s very easy to make and flattering too!

Great dress!!! I just had a look at your blog and the Bedspread is amazing. It really belongs in a museum and maybe you should take it to your local museum as it tells so much of the time it was embroidered. It has been embroidered in a stitch that was meant to last and done so beautifully, so consider sharing it with your local community as it really is a National treasure.
