I know it’s summer, but I couldn’t stop myself from making this beauty. I had the pattern for a while, but waited to buy the fabric in Mood, when I was visiting NYC.
So last couple of days, I’ve been tracing and cutting patterns, cutting fabric, sewing, ironing… But totally worth it! Although I can’t wear this for another 3 months :(
For the lining of the capelet and sleeves I used a super beautiful knit fabric, and the soft thick lining of the bodice was a scrap from my stash. To make it extra warm, I put a fleece lining between inner- and outer fabric of the sleeves.
I did make a couple alterations, like shortening bodice & sleeves. Because it bothered me that the left 3 buttons were just sewn on, I made 6 bound button holes, with 5 usable buttons. (The one in the left upper corner is a fake buttonhole/button.) I also lengthened the button-part (how do you call that?), because I like it more symmetrical.
