Description

This is a pattern that I was determined to make, despite my online search efforts returning only 2 reviews. Mbaliyethu on burdastyle cemented my decision to try it. Being a hugely oversized coat, I altered the looseness right through the body at the upper chest area. This coat is unlined and only 3 pattern pieces. Pattern said 3.5 yards but I only needed 2.6 with150cm wide fabric. It has pockets and is very comfortable. Easy pattern to make if following the instructions. I didn’t follow as i altered the pattern and used bias binding. I made a photoshop image with the fabric first.

Material Notes

Anna Sui wool blend from Mood Fabrics. Sometimes fabric is not exactly as you imagine it when you buy online. This colour was accurate but the weave was loose. I had to stabilise all edges with tape. I decided to bind the entire coat – found some silk/cotton at my local store in Brunei! Perfect because it pressed nice and flat.
