I bought this fabric last year when I was planning to make my Old Hollywood Blouse. I’d loved this colour, but the fabric is very thin, so in the end I used something else.
Given how thin the fabric is, this had to be either a light cardigan or overshirt. I considered making it a light cardigan, but didn’t have a pattern, and thought it’d be nice to have a top that’s got longer sleeves but isn’t warm. For those days where it isn’t cold, but there’s a little chill in the morning and evening.
I used the epaullette shirt pattern out of the ‘mannish style’ Japanese pattern book, but widened the front piece so I could add in the pleats for a bit of interest.
