I’ve noticed over the years of sewing that I tend toward the kitsch and childishly quirky. Don’t get me wrong, I do love kitsch and quirky, hence why I buy the fabrics I buy and make what I make, but every so often I notice a hole in my wardrobe. Most people have a range of standard basic items, simple staples in simple standard fabrics that can be go-to items and can team with most things. I don’t really have that. So I’ve decided to try and fill some of those gaps. This is the first in an intermittent series, a basic striped t-shirt. It is a fairly basic slightly loose t-shirt in striped cotton jersey, and so can team with skirts and pants.
Photos by Ezzles, and apologies for squinting in them, it was an incredibly bright day.

Stripy shirts are a must in everyone’s wardrobe :-) I wonder whether it would have been possible to cut this shirt out of just two pieces (back and front with the sleeves on), considering you have the stripes in the same direction as the stripes on the bodice?
