After digging in her wardrobe, daughter no 2 decided she only had jeans, and as it is now officially summer, they would be too warm to wear in a kitchen. So the routine all mum’s know full well starts when their little darlings are after something… “Muuuuuuum??” with much fluttering of eyelashes. So we determine she wants the trousers from the April 2011 Burda, and wouldn’t yellow be really cool? Well, yes, it would. Problem: I don’t have anything in yellow! Luckily the local hardware stocks Dylon, so after the school run I get to dyeing some white linen.
These trousers were made in about 4 hours, once the fabric was dyed, dried and ironed! She wore them to college and in the kitchen, and approves of them – I should hope so!!
The pattern is no 104 from Burda 04/2011
Linen, dyed with Dylon's Sunflower yellow machine dye. Buttons are from a charity shop treasure trove.

Thank you. One is easier to make for than the other… Not so fussy! haha :D I need to make for them, I cannot make everything for myself – I would run out of room in a heartbeat..

But I don´t get why she wears them in the kitchen… aren´t they too pretty to wear in a kitchen or am I missing something? :)

She is doing a catering diploma, so wanted something cooler than jeans to wear while cooking in the kitchen. :D

This is really good job! I’d never guessed they’re hand dyed, or it’s only my own fear of dying ;) I love the colour, esspecially that my summer is only in the name(sadly). Lovely styling as well!

Easy dye job to be honest, just follow the instructions on the packet and shove the whole lot in the washing machine… And they might be the brightest thing in our “summer” too.. :)
