this project was in the works for over a year. my husband wanted a coat that would catch the eye and imaginations of his coworkers at the holiday party, so i made this frock coat from burda pattern 2459. i made it out gold brocade and lined it with fleece. i added a hood too. i had to put sleeve gussets in it so he could get the arms in all the way, he can get his arms down. i cut them a size bigger than the size i used and still needed extra room. i don’t believe that the pattern is suppose to be historically acurate, but the sleeves are, the back may or may not be.
