I made this dress for the Walk in the Wild event at the Oakland Zoo on Saturday. It used to be a vintage flat sheet. I used Simplicity 5430 from 1972 with a few alterations, namely the sleeves and some fit work. Came out great I thought. I love the design. I do recommend this pattern. :)

Thanks! I actually made the original sleeves but once they were basted on I wasn’t feeling them at all so I made the change.

Ha! My MIL has that exact sheet in green, and I’ve always wanted to steal it.
I agree, it really looks modern, not costumey at all.

This is great! Despite the fact that you used a vintage print and a ’70s pattern, it looks totally modern :)

Thanks! I’m glad it doesn’t look too costumey. There really is a fine line and I know I cross it from time to time! haha
