It was 105 degrees farenheit when this was created…
Behold! The Louisa (minus the full lining) in a nice light weight Italian linen blend
Burda’s vests (Franzi and, now, Louisa) are the perfect size for the fabric wholesaler remnants I save from the local community centre.
Two main varitations:
1) light facings instead of full lining, and
2) pintucked back instead of pleat
LIke the Louisa A, no lapel/collar.
(I’ll add full variation notes shortly… update: well, I wrote up the variations complete with pictures. But they look so long! I will work some more on shortening them down)
Black and white check and fine weave of black and white back contrast piece (that appears grey) all 72% Linen and 28% cotton from Italy; wooden buttons

I feel so stupid, but I’ve never done a vest before. Is anybody else having trouble piecing the louise together?

Thanks for your comment on my page! :) I love your vest—fits so well and so nicely made. I’ve been wanting to make one for a long time…

Thank you, Julietta!
I saw your Franzi with the gorgeous ribbon back. The franzi is a great pattern. A difference in the Louisa is the curved lapel which gives the vest a softer line.
